International Institute of Education

The Institute of International Education (IIE) is the leader in designing and implementing international education strategies and program services. IIE works with governments, policymakers, educators, and employers across the globe to prepare students and professionals for the global workforce and equip them to solve the increasingly complex challenges facing our interconnected world.

With support from donors, IIE also create initiatives that assist students, scholars, and artists whose lives and work are threatened; expand teaching and learning across cultures; and provide opportunities to underserved populations. A not-for-profit organization founded in 1919, IIE has an extensive network of offices and affiliates worldwide and over 1,600 higher education partners.

IIE Refugee EdTech Programme - edX MicroMasters®

  • The Bseisu Foundation has partnered with IIE to support their Refugee EdTech Program, which supports displaced students to pursue advanced education online and remotely. This allows student to earn an edX MicroMasters® certificate.

    After completion of a MicroMasters®, students may apply to pursue an accelerated, less expensive full master’s degree at the university offering their certificate, or use it as a hiring credential on its own with employers.

  • Eligible students will be:

    • Displaced students pursuing an edX MicroMasters certification in STEM fields.

    • Preference will be made for students from Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Iraq.

    Applications for the 2023 IIE Refugee EdTech Program – edX MicroMastersare are now closed and are managed by IIE.

    Please note that the Bseisu Foundation does not accept any applications directly and enquiries about the application process are best directed to IIE.

IIE UK-Levant Emergency Student Fund

  • The UK-Levant Emergency Student Fund will provide critical small grants of $2,000 to 30 students from Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, or Syria who are pursuing a degree in the UK at the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, and Imperial College London.

  • The IIE UK-Levant Emergency Student Fund will be available to 30 students in 2023/24.

    Eligible students will be:

    • From Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, or Syria

    • Pursuing a degree at the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford or Imperial College London.

  • United Kingdom

  • Universities will nominate students who are facing emergencies that impact their ability to pursue their degree.
